Bombed in Afghanistan: What is Smithsonian magazine´s ethical obligation to their freelance journalist injured on assignment?

Paul Raffaele writes, "This was taken the day before the suicide bombing at Jalalabad. I was at the palace of Governor Sherzai of Nangarhar province, the Afghan warlord of warlords and reputably President Obama's favorite Afghan leader. I´m with his personal aide and Governor Sherzai, bearded, can be seen in the background to the right."
