The UK Sun’s May 2 headline “Bwing on the Euwos” prompted “more than 100 complaints,” Journalism.co.uk reported.
The headline, which accompanied a story about Roy Hodgson, mocked his “manner of speech.” The Guardian explained that Hodgson has “speech impediment.” Hodgson was named the new “Manager of the Three Lions” in England.
The Football Association issued a statement about the headline, which it called “in poor taste and disrepectful.”
