3 New Arrests in UK Investigation into Press

Two more people have been arrested during the UK police’s investigation into wrongdoing by the press, the Associated Press reported.

The two were arrested to be questioned “on suspicion of computer hacking,” the AP reported.  According to the AP, the UK police didn’t disclose if they “were police officers or private investigators” and noted that the “arrests are not directly linked to any news organization or the activities of journalists.”

The AP noted that a UK “senior police officer” was also arrested concerning claims the officer leaked information.

News Corp.’s new UK Sunday newspaper, The Sun on Sunday, is slated to launch this weekend, as we have writtenEarlier this month, News Corp’s owner and CEO Rupert Murdoch announced the company would end any suspensions of its journalists.

Earlier this month, the UK police arrested five journalists from the Sun to be investigate in the UK police into bribery of police officers or public officials.
