7th Righthaven Suit Dismissed

For the seventh time in nine weeks, U.S. judge dismissed a case filed by Righthaven because the copyright company has no “standing to sue over Las Vegas Review-Journal content,” Vegas Inc reported.  Righthaven is the company that has been filing lawsuits alleging copyright infringement on behalf of the Review-Journal and the Denver Post.

The most recent dismissal was of the Righthaven case versus Bill Hyatt who reportedly re-published on his website “without authorization” a column from the Review-Journal. In the initial lawsuit, Righthaven stated it wanted Dawson’s domain, $150,000, and legal fees, according to Vegas Inc.

Vegas Inc noted that the National Media Bloggers Association backed Hyatt in an amicus brief.
