Fox Business Network host Lou Dobbs tweeted — and then deleted — that the bombs sent to Democratic politicians and CNN this week were fake.

Dobbs’ Oct. 25 tweet, sent at 8:59 AM, read, “Fake News–Fake Bombs Who could possible benefit by so much fakery? #MAGA #AmericaFirst #Dobbs”

After that tweet was deleted, he posted a new tweet, CNN’s Oliver Darcy noted, that said in part “Fake news has just successfully changed the narrative from the onslaught of illegal immigrants and broker border security to ‘suspicious packages.'” He also tweeted that during his show tonight he will “take up why FBI and ATF hasn’t informed the public about contents of ‘suspicious packages’: whether hoax or bombs, they were clearly designed to influence election.”

iMediaEthics wrote to Fox to ask if Dobbs would correct his tweet; a Fox Business spokesperson pointed to his new tweet.
