CNN’s Anderson Cooper criticized the Daily Caller for seriously reporting his satirical comments about 51-year-old actor Doug Hutchinson who recently married 16-year-old Courtney Stodden, Mediaite reported.

Cooper commented on the marriage in a segment called “RidicuList” and joked that Stodden’s parents are “so cool.” But, the Daily Caller reported as if his comments were serious, Mediaite reported.

The Daily Caller has updated its June 23 story  to clarify and notes that “This article has been updated to clearly explain that Cooper’s segment was done in a sarcastic tone, as it was a part of his ‘RidicuList’ segment.”

Cooper criticized the Daily Caller on air calling the headline and story misleading.  Cooper commented to the Daily Caller’s writer: “In the future, though, don’t be so quick to attack. Make sure to fully research what you write — that way you don’t end up having your editors step in and rewrite your inaccurate stories.”
