The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) issued a press release slamming the suspension of South African journalist Brigitte Weidlich.

Weidlich reportedly was suspended after reporting on a business arrangement concerning Trustco Group International, the parent company of her newspaper, Informante .

According to Trustco’s human resources department’s George N. Mbundu, she was suspended for “misconduct and failing to adhere to editorial and company policies”related to her reporting, MISA reported.

According to MISA, “there is nothing unethical about the story that Weidlich wrote” and her suspension amounts to censorship.
