Boston, Massachusetts Catholic newspaper The Pilot retracted and unpublished a column “suggesting homosexuality is caused by the devil,” GantDaily.com reported.

According to GantDaily, the column was retracted because it contained a “theological error.”

The column was written by Daniel Avila, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ policy director for marriage and family.
