The Scottish Sun apologized after unnecessarily identifying children in an April 29 story critical of their father, the PCC reported.

The man, a former teacher named John Forrester, complained that identifying the children invaded their privacy, and the newspaper agreed to delete their names from the online story.  The PCC noted that the Sun,  which is owned by News Corp., also published a print and online apology to the children.

The correction, added to the bottom of this article, reads “An earlier version of this article named John Forrester’s children. Their details should not have been included in the story and we would like to apologise to the Forrester family for this error and any upset caused.”
