Abdel-Moneim Abdel-Maqsoud claimed “state-owned media” reported “false news” about his client, the Muslim Brotherhood, Ahram reported.

He claims the state media made up quotes attributed to “Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohamed Badie as telling Ismail Haniya, prime minister of the Hamas-led government in Gaza, that he wished Haniya ‘could be prime minister of Egypt too.'”

Ahram noted that Egypt’s president, Mohamed Morsi, recently sued two unnamed “media outlets” over reports he said included “inaccurate information.”
