The Toronto Star corrected an August 31 report that claimed someone died, when he didn’t.

The correction reads:

“An Aug. 31 article about the Centre for Addiction, Recovery and Employment Centres (CARES) incorrectly stated that Errol Richards, then 19, was stabbed to death outside the Scarborough agency in 2009. In fact, Richards survived critical injuries from the stabbing. The Star regrets the error.”

The article, “Scarborough pre-employment agency in danger of closure,” now carries a “note” about its error and the text of the article reflects that Richards “survived critical injuries.”
