The Toronto Staredited” an editorial from August to remove a reference to “‘Jewish only’ roads and settlements in the West Bank.”  The editorial was by Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East president Thomas Woodley.

The article now carries a “note”  reading that “This article was edited from a previous version that referred to ‘Jewish only’ roads and settlements in the West Bank”

Honest Reporting added: “While Mr. Woodley is entitled to his opinions, he’s not entitled to his own facts. There are no roads built solely for Jews.”  According to Honest Reporting, the editor’s note and removal of the “Jewish only” claims were prompted by its contacting the Star and Woodley.

We wrote to the Star’s editorial page for more information, but were referred to the newspaper’s public editor Kathy English. We’ve written to English and will update with any response.
