A New York Times caption mixed up Denzel Washington’s wife and daughter in a Reuters photo.

The Times originally called the woman standing next to Washington on the Golden Globes red carpet his wife, but it was really his daughter Olivia.  A note at the bottom of the caption discloses that error and a spelling error that “misspelled Mr. Washington’s last name.”  The note — which isn’t labeled as a “correction” — reads:

“An earlier version of the caption with this photo incorrectly identified Denzel Washington’s daughter as his wife and misspelled Mr. Washington’s surname.”
