Indian journalism trainers taught two dozen reporters from Bhutan in late July about “basic journalism” including “ethics and morality in journalism,” Bhutan news site Kuensel Online reported.
The training was “organised” by the Bhutan Media Foundation and, in all, “135 participants will be trained.”
The Foundation’s executive director Lilly Wangchuk is quoted as saying, “These trainings have been especially custom designed to meet the current challenges faced by Bhutanese media professionals.”
In a separate report, Kuensel Online noted that ethics issues covered included accurately reporting from sources, in-depth research and editing to fact check.
