The U.S. Air Force blocked “computer access” to the news outlets that published the diplomatic cables recently leaked by WikiLeaks, the Washington Post reported. The New York Times, Der Spiegel, Le Monde, El Pais and the Guardian all published reports in coordination with WikiLeaks’ early December leak of diplomatic cables.
“More than 25 websites have been blocked and cannot be viewed by any Air Force computer,” the Post reported an Air Force major stated. However, the sites aren’t blocked on personal computers.
“If a site has republished the documents, then we block it,” Air Force Maj. Toni Tones is quoted as saying.
