MSNBC host Tamron Hall called the network’s broadcasting photograph of Trayvon Martin’s dead body “an awful mistake,” according to Mediaite.
MSNBC showed the crime scene photo from the trial of George Zimmerman on July 12, as iMediaEthics has written. Gawker published an uncensored screenshot of MSNBC’s broadcast showing Martin’s dead body and blamed MSNBC for making the photo available. Gawker’s headline read: “This, Courtesy of MSNBC, is Trayvon Martin’s Dead Body. Get Angry.”
In a tweet, Hall responded to a viewer’s complaint, saying, “I didn’t see it flash.. an awful mistake!”
Mediaite noted that HLN, which is owned by CNN, also showed the image.
A Florida jury found Zimmerman not guilty of manslaughter or second degree murder on July 13.
