Arizona TV News to pay Blogger $300 for Video

Arizona CBS-affiliate KOLD-TV 13 is paying a blogger $300 after “using his video without permission,” Jim Romenesko reported August 14.

The blogger, Michael McKisson, told Romenesko that “the station’s news director, Michelle Germano … said the story was produced by a new reporter. The station has a policy of not using YouTube videos and because the reporter did not cite the video as a YouTube video, the editors looking over the script missed it and didn’t take it out.”

We wrote in May when the Oregon Times Observer paid blogger Duane Lester $500 after running his blogpost as one of its stories without permission.
