A UK judge has called for Associated Newspapers to “pay £15,000 in privacy damages” for running “unpixellated pictures of child whose alleged father is a ‘philandering’ politician” in 2010, the Guardian reported.
The ruling didn’t name the newspaper that ran the photo, the politician or the child or her age, but the articles were “speculation about the identity of her father,” according to the Guardian. The politician is “a married elected politician,” the Press Gazette added.
Press Gazette reported that the mother of the child didn’t name “the father on her daughter’s birth certificate,” and hasn’t identified the father.
