Bergen Record columnist Wasn’t Allowed Masters Golf Tournament Locker Room Because she’s a woman

The New York Post reported that female columnist for the (Bergen County, New Jersey) Record, Tara Sullivan,  wasn’t allowed into a Masters golf tournament locker room because she is a woman.

She and other reporters were reportedly “following” one of the players and was prevented access to the locker room by a “female security guard, who told her women were not allowed in the locker room.  The rest of the male contingent was allowed into the locker room.”

According to the Post, an unnamed “Masters personnel” stated that the guard was “wrong” to keep Sullivan from the locker room.

Keeping female reporters from male locker rooms became an issue last fall, when Mexican journalist Ines Sainz was reportedly harassed by NFL New York Jets players.  A sexual harassment complaint was filed on Sainz’s behalf against the Jets and after an investigation, the NFL commissioner determined the Jets were “unprofessional” during Sainz’s presence.

Sainz, who took a month-long break after the much-publicized incident, stated she would not report from locker rooms going forward.
