Canadian TV News Errs in ‘Canoodle’ Use

Media errors are even making their way to Dictionary.com.

The dictionary website recently featured on its home page a “TV anchor’s word mistake” and offered up a link to the true definition of the mis-used word, “canoodle.”

Earlier this month, a Vancouver Island TV anchor mis-used the word “canoodle” in an attempt to “segue from a story” using the term “to the weather report.”  But, the anchor, Andrew Johnson, said to the weather reporter, Astrid Braunschmidt, that “Maybe we can canoodle before you get into it,” leading Braunschmidt to decline, Yahoo News explained.
