Center for Public Integrity is starting an investigative journalism news site called iWatchNews next week, Mediaite reported. Articles will be crossposted on the Huffington Post.
According to the New York Times, plans call for the 37-person staffed site to publish “10 to 12 original investigative pieces and aggregated content from other sources” each day.
While the site is free, in an interesting twist, readers can buy a $50 annual subscription to access the site without advertising displayed.
UPDATE: 05/29/2011 1:05 PM EST: Corrected subheadline that read “iWatchMedia” is the name of the Center for Public Integrity’s new site. The CPI’s new investigative news site is called iWatchNews.
