David Beckham Counters In Touch Lawsuit

As iMediaEthics previously reported, David Beckham called for front page apology from In Touch magazine after it published a cover story alleging he slept with prostitute Irma Nici. Beckham filed the lawsuit for libel, slander and unintentional infliction of emotional distress against In Touch and its related media companies in October.

Beckham recently countered the In Touch story again in a “five-page court statement dismissing” Nici’s story.  The document details Beckham’s time in New York during the 2007 weekend in question, the Daily Mail reported.

As further defense, Beckham explained he wouldn’t have been able to pay the alleged $10,000 Nici charges without having asked for the money from his management team.  Beckham claims he didn’t ask for the money.

In Touch is defending its story and Nici reportedly filed a countersuit alleging “emotional and physical pain and distress.”
