Peru’s National Penitentiary Institute head has questioned how Radio Capital and TV news program Primera Noticia got access to inmate Antauro Humala, The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas reported.
Humala, the brother of Peruvian president Ollanta Humala and ” leader of the ethnic nationalist Ethnocacerista Movement,” reportedly was interviewed “several” times by phone, despite being in a “maximum security cell” that has strict restrictions on cell phones and “contact with visitors.”
The prison hadn’t granted access to Humala, according to the Knight Center. Read more about this issue here.
