The University of Colorado-Boulder is holding a media ethics symposium next week.
The March 14-15 event will include talks by two prominent figures and group discussions of ethics issues, according to press release on the university’s website.
NYU journalism professor and First Look Media adviser Jay Rosen will speak about “The Ethics of Point-of-View Journalism” on March 14. Later that day, Digital First Media digital transformation editor Steve Buttry will talk about “Upholding and Updating Journalism Values.”
Rosen and Buttry’s lectures are both open to the public.
Topics that will be covered in the seven panel discussions include online corrections and the use of drones in journalism, the press release says. The panels are invitation-only, the university’s Paul Voakes told iMediaEthics by e-mail.
The event is free. A schedule is published here.
