UK media regulator OfCom announced that it was OK for UK news outlets to air video footage of Muammar Gaddafi “badly injured shortly before his death” and that it wouldn’t look into complaints over coverage, the Guardian reported.
Hundreds of complaints were made by the public about the footage. For example, there were 473 complaints about the BBC’s coverage, 58 complaints about Sky News, 29 complaints about Channel 4 News, and more.
OfCom defended not looking into the complaints because it said the footage was “appropriately limited both pre- and post-watershed,” the Guardian reported.
