Fox Business Network put Trish Regan’s show “on hiatus until further note” after a controversial segment earlier this month saying coronavirus is “another attempt to impeach the president.”

While Fox Business Network issued a statement saying it and another program were on hiatus because of “the demands of the evolving pandemic crisis coverage,” the New York Times noted that “the abrupt removal…came as right-wing media stars have faced growing scrutiny for commentary that played down fears about the coronavirus.”

Regan tweeted the hiatus news March 13, writing: “I want to let everyone know that Trish Regan Primetime is now on hiatus. FBN has taken prudent steps to limit staffing levels and is prioritizing its coverage during market hours. I fully support this decision — we all must to do our part to keep our colleagues safe. #TrishRegan

Fox Business Network provided iMediaEthics with the following statement, “FOX Business’ primetime programs Trish Regan Primetime and Kennedy will both be on hiatus until further notice. Due to the demands of the evolving pandemic crisis coverage, we are deploying all resources from both shows for staffing needs during critical market hours. FOX Business will run long form programming in primetime for the foreseeable future.”
