iMediaEthics wrote this week about the claims that the San Antonio Express-News killed a column critical of advertiser H-E-B supermarkets.
We wrote to H-E-B asking for comment and heard back from Dya Campos, director of public affairs for H-E-B in San Antonio. We asked if the company had any comment about the claims that some stores need renovation and sell sub-standard products. We also asked if H-E-B had any comment about the claims that its status as an advertiser gives it influence with the newspaper.
Campos only responded: “We start construction on both stores on Monday. This has been planned for over a year.” iMediaEthics wrote back asking for clarification and will update with any response.
