The New York Times reported Nov. 17 that the government of Iran has changed its charges against two German newspaper reporters.
The two reporters were “initially accused…of working illegally as journalists.” However, now the two Bild am Sonntag reporters are charged with “spying, a crime that can be punishable by death.”
Reporters without Borders called for “the immediate release” of the two journalists and issued a statement that “Reporting is not spying” here on its website Nov. 17.
