This week is Ethics Week for the Society of Professional Journalists.
This year’s theme is “Minimize Harm,” the SPJ’s ethics chair Andrew Seaman blogged.
“Ethics Week is a time to recognize journalists who seek truth and report it, minimize harm, act independently, and are accountable and transparent,” the SPJ’s website states.
The society is participating in two Twitter chats this week — the American Copy Editors Society’s April 29 chat focusing on ” Ethics: Minimizing Harm in Digital Editing” at 4 PM and the SPJ’s own chat April 30 at 4 PM “Being Ethical in the Aftermath of Brian Williams & Rolling Stone.”
