According to Dec. 12 retraction, The Jewish Press apologized for a recent blogpost about Jack Abramoff, the former lobbyist who completed a prison sentence for mail fraud and tax evasion.
The blogpost, which has since been unpublished, “questioned whether or not he was eating non-kosher when spotted at a Washington D.C. restaurant meeting with Tom DeLay.”
Abramoff challenged that reporting, saying “he would never eat treif” (non-kosher), the retraction states.
According to a search of The Jewish Press‘s website, it appears that the article in question was published Dec. 10 and said “Abramoff eats sushi with Tom Delay…”
iMediaEthics has written to The Jewish Press seeking more information about its error and retraction and will update with any response.
