The Herald Sun reported that Joseph Stalin’s son, Yevgeny Dzhugashvili, sued Russian radio station for nearly $400,000 for commenting that the former Soviet leader “strangled small children.” But, a Moscow court rejected the suit.
According to the Indian Express, the comments were made on radio station Moscow Echo (Ekho Moskvy) in May 2010 by journalist Nikolai Svanidze.
Dzhugashvili has reportedly sued other media outlets in the past in order “to defend his grandfather’s reputation” but hasn’t won.
