Journalism professor Herbert Lowe discussed how to handle students skipping class to “do journalism” in a recent post for Poynter.
Lowe, a professor at Marquette University, explained that two of his students ditched his class to cover basketball games for student media.
Lowe noted that when this type of incident happens in the future, he could “proactively help them to use their road trips to not only keep up with their assignments, but also enhance the great networking and job-searching opportunities” they encounter.
