University of California-Berkeley student journalist Josh Wolf was arrested for “trespassing and other charges” in 2009 when he was taping protest on campus, Mercury News reported. As punishment, he has to “write a five-page essay explaining how the university could better deal with student journalists.”
Wolf was set to receive his master’s degree in journalism this past weekend.
“It seems like I’ve been forced to be a consultant for them,” Wolf is quoted as saying. “But it’s better than not graduating, I suppose.”
The Daily Cal reported that the university may use Wolf’s paper to help update the school’s code of student conduct.
