WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange is appealing the UK Supreme Court ruling calling for his extradition to Sweden, the Associated Press reported.
As we wrote in late May, the UK Supreme Court ruled for Assange to be extradited for questioning about “accusations of sexual assault and rape,” but he was given two weeks to “challenge central point of the judgment.”
The AFP reported that a Supreme Court spokesperson confirmed: “Lawyers for Julian Assange have lodged papers to apply to re-open the appeal, as expected, for the reasons set out in the hearing.”
However, according to the AFP, there isn’t an announced timeline for moving forward.
