Lifted!?$ NYPost Graphic Very Similar to iMediaEthics

Given the current state of our national press, it’s sometimes difficult to know whether the work of media ethicists is making an impact.  Well, if the cover image of the New York Post about the results of the Iowa caucus is any indication, at least one of Gotham’s tabloids is starting to notice  iMediaEthics.

Compare an image that we published on October 19, 2007 with the Post’s from January 4, 2008.

Looks familiar, no?

In a friendly email to the Post’s art director Dennis Wickman, iMediaEthics pointed out the similarities between our masterpieces, asked whether he was familiar with our website, and offered help with “any other image concepts that we could provide.”  Later, we phoned his desk for further comment.

He opened the message while on the phone, and laughed when he saw the graphics side by side.  “No, I did that all on my own,” Wickman affirmed. “I didn’t even see that one.”

“I didn’t see yours,” he emphasized.  “So imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,” Wickman opined.
