Mark Luckie on New Media

Washington Post’s national innovations editor Mark Luckie spoke at a panel discussion on “The Changing Media Landscape,” the Columbia Journalism Review reported.

In the CJR/Hearst Foundation discussion, Luckie called some stories “‘un-webbable’; not that you can’t enhance them with a multimedia package, but that the results aren’t worth the effort,” CJR explained.  He also said that journalists need to adapt by learning new technologies — but while considering which medium works best for each story.

Regarding changing ethics, Luckie reportedly said “The technology will change, but the ethics never will.  You can tweet that!”
