Mediaite’s Colby Hall wrote Jan. 24 about Dan Abrams’ move from NBC to ABC. However, Hall didn’t publish any glowing praise of Abrams or his move, and instead wondered why Mediaite was the last to know about Abrams’ job change. Why? Because Abrams is Mediaite’s founder and publisher.
Hall noted that Mediaite found out about the news from Women’s World Daily, Politico, Business Insider, Huffington Post, TV Newser and other news sites first. Hall wrote:
“Who was the latest to the game? Mediaite. When reached for comment, Abrams sipped from his Ramos Fizz, adjusted his smoking jacket and asked for the reporter’s name again. When he was reminded the the so-called reporter was in fact the Managing Editor of Mediaite, he mumbled something unintelligible about ‘trying to go to DisneyWorld’ then politely said ‘Good day.'”
Mediaite is news and opinion website on the media industry. Abrams is also behind websites Gossip Cop, Styleite, SportsGrid, and Geekosystem. He intends to start three new websites this year, the New York Times reported.
