Nepali journalist Kishore Nepal addressed the change in Nepal’s media during his 30-year-plus career, Nepal Monitor reported.
According to the journalist Nepal, before “Nepal got television” in 1985, journalism was “Heavily regulated and heavily censored.”
He called for “a system of guidance” in Nepal’s media to help ensure that the media is “responsible to society.” In the interview, he noted that the “guidance” should be “voluntary” and “self-imposing. He also criticized the influence of money and profit in media.
