The Associated Press has updated its social media guidelines to include guidance on re-tweeting (when a Twitter user essentially forwards another user’s post with all followers).
The new guidelines warn AP staff to carefully re-tweet so that followers don’t think “you’re expressing a personal opinion on the issues of the day,” Poynter’s Mallary Jean Tenore explained.
