A new system called CrossMark will make it easier to find out about “updates and post-publications analyses of research papers,” the journal Nature reported.
CrossMark uses a logo and a “pop-up box” showing “updates to the work, such as retractions, corrections or other notes,” and could potentially provide more information about paper’s like “peer-review process” and “funding sources,” according to Nature.
It also will let people know about “alerts to changes in a research paper’s status.”
According to a press release, CrossMark is already on “almost 20,000 documents from 21 journals.”
