News Corp Reviewing ‘Anti-Corruption Controls’

News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch revealed in memo that he is examining the company’s “current internal controls” to “identify ways in which we can enhance them,” Radio Australia reported.

Murdoch is quoted as saying: “Let me emphasise that the review is not based on any suspicion of wrongdoing by any particular business unit or its personnel.”  The review is “of anti-corruption controls in selected locations around the world.”

However, as Radio Australia noted this month “the Church of England sold its shares in News Corp worth almost $3 million, citing ethical grounds.”
