As iMediaEthics previously wrote, News International announced that it would donate its proceeds from the last issue of News of the World. The newspaper closed in July as more charges of phone hacking by the newspaper surfaced.

According to the Guardian, News International’s new CEO, Tom Mockridge, said the company will be giving  £2.8 million to three UK charities.  Profits from the Irish edition will be given to five Irish charities.
