The government of Myanmar will not make Burmese journalists have their stories reviewed prior to publication, the Associated Press reported.
According to the AP:
“Officials from the government’s press scrutiny and registration department told reporters in Yangon on Monday that they no longer have to submit their work to state censors before publication.”
We wrote earlier this month about two Myanmar publications censored by the government whose publications were suspended. Following a protest, both publications were told they could publish again.
