Better get your globes out for a last-minute fact check, NPR, especially when giving your audience a lecture about geography.

NPR wrongly placed Singapore and the United Arab Emirates in the Southern Hemisphere when reporting for a Jan. 4 story, “If You Shouldn’t Call It The Third World, What Should You Call It?”

A Jan. 6 correction on the article states: “Our geography was off in the original version of this post. We stated that Singapore and the United Arab Emirates were in the Southern Hemisphere; in fact, they are in the Northern Hemisphere.”
