Pennsylvania Convention Center Says it had no Inquirer Ad Scheduled

As iMediaEthics wrote, Philadelphia news site The Metropolis questioned the firing of a Philadelphia Inquirer reporter, Paul Davies, and linked it to complaints by the Pennsylvania Convention Center over one of Davies’ columns critical of the center.  The Metropolis reported that the center pulled a $400,000 to $500,000 ad with the Inquirer after Davies’ column ran.

iMediaEthics wrote to Rosalyn McPherson of the ROZ Group, which represents the center, asking for confirmation about the advertisement and for comment.  McPherson’s response:

“The PCCA is not aware of any connection between the departure of Mr. Davies and the Convention Center’s expressed concerns about misleading reporting from the Inquirer.  Additionally, there were no confirmed advertising reservations with the Inquirer from the Convention Center during the time period in question.”
