Former NBA player Scottie Pippen is suing ten news media outlets for “malicious libel” because they claimed he is bankrupt, BET reported.
Pippen called the reports “sloppy conduct” and defended his “substantial net worth.”

According to Crain’s, Pippen wants “at least $1 million from each defendant,” damages and court costs. The ten websites he’s suing are are CBS Corp., CNBC’s parent company Comcast Corp, General Electric Co., Arizona State University, Yakezie Network and One Money Design, Mint Software Inc., Investing Answers, Sportsreport360.com, Evolve Media Corp, and the University of Tampa’s Minaret, according to Crain’s.
ESPN explained that Pippen “never lost $120 million, and, more importantly, never filed for bankruptcy.” Even worse, following the news reports that Pippen was bankrupt, Pippen faced a “nightmare of lost endorsements and appearance fees.”
