Singapore Court Calls for Journalist’s Anonymous Sources

Journalist James M Dorsey must identify his anonymous sources for his Sept. article “The World of Soccer: AFC reports to Malaysian Police about Stolen Payment Documents,” after recent Singapore court ruling, according to “media action centre” HotNHitNews.com.

The article, published on Dorsey’s blog, focused on “an audit of suspended world soccer body FIFA vice president and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) president Mohammed Bin Hammam’s management of AFC’s finances and agreement with a Singapore-based company on the group’s marketing rights,” HotnHitNews.com reported.

Singapore-based World Sports Group called for the identity of the sources and claimed that they tried to “defame.”

Dorsey is quoted by the AFP as saying he is “disappointed at the court’s ruling and will appeal it.”
