Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Mass Media and Information has been given the OK to create registry of all news websites in Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka’s Internet newspaper Colombo Page reported.
Sri Lanka Mirror, a news website censored by Sri Lanka’s government, has also appealed the censorship, according to Salem-News.com. The website’s editor Kelum Shivantha claimed that since its site had been blocked, the site has lost traffic and its advertising income.
According to Sri Lankan news site the Daily News, the Mirror is calling for damages from the government.
