Two British Newspapers Apologize for Invasion of Privacy, Inaccurate Information

The Guardian’s media writer Roy Greenslade reported Oct. 7 that the Mail on Sunday and the News of the World both published apologies to Vanessa Perroncel.

Both The Mail on Sunday’s July 4 apology and The News of the World’s Oct 3 apology acknowledged that the newspapers published “some personal information” about Perroncel having “an alleged affair” with soccer player John Terry.  Both newspapers wrote that Perroncel wanted the matter and her personal information “to remain private and it was untrue in any case.”

Greenslade noted that “these apologies are remarkable” because the two newspapers admit invading her privacy and publishing untrue information.

Perroncel is a French actress and model.
