UK Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt commented in late November that he thinks the UK print regulatory body the Press Complaints Commission will be replaced by a new regulation system with more powers of enforcement, the Guardian reported.

Hunt’s comments were made at a UK Parliament communications committee inquiry, which is separate from the UK Leveson Inquiry into press standards and practices.

Hunt also called for “plurality” in UK media ownership and more local news media.
